Relaxation, Recreation and Romance.
Thats what your mountain vacation should be about !!

Hot Springs is rich with history and culture. It sits at the junction of the Appalachian Trail and French Broad River (3rd oldest river in the world) in a beautiful valley surrounded by the Pisgah National Forest. Experience our rich musical traditions, arts and crafts, and take a walking tour to step back into another time.

Hot Springs was a resort destination since the early 1800s, and has long been renowned for its mineral springs and scenic mountain setting. Native Americans were the first to discover the 100-plus degree mineral water from which the town of Hot Springs received its name.

Situated at an elevation of 1,334 feet, Hot Springs is the only town in North Carolina located on the historic Appalachian Trail, which extends 2,175 miles (or 2 million steps) from Maine to Georgia.

Our Story

Our Story Our journey to the breathtaking mountains of the Carolina's began over a decade ago, and it is indeed a dream come true. It was time to get away from the cold and fast pace of the Mid-West and create a new life in the mountains of Western North Carolina.

Our only regret is that we didn`t do it much earlier. We love the Hot Springs and Madison County area and found it was very easy to build up a new network of friends and organizations to be inovolved in. We are focused on "paying it forward" and are actively involved in Madison County Rotary Club and through them the "Rotarians Against Hunger" which provides over 200,000 packaged meals yearly.

Your hosts, Dave and Callie Wellendorf
